Shining the Light on awakening

Review: The Universe is a Dream by Alexander Marchand

I hadn’t read a comic book since Archie and Charlie Brown... That’s a long time ago! Who would have thought it possible to find the key themes of A Course in Miracles, the Laws of Chaos, the Obstacles to Peace, the Hero of the Dream, the Rules for Decision (one of my favourites), the Song of Prayer and more in a comic book!!! I believe they are called graphic novels today. This work is truly brilliant; so much so that I had to read it a second time, and no doubt will read it again, as I feel the need for quick, concise reminders of the challenging message of the Course.

As I posted on Amazon, for those who have scoured the spiritual buffet line for some time and are ready to clear away the crumbs of confusion, this book may very well be your answer. If you are a beginner student of A Course in Miracles and need a quick, concise overview of its core message, this book is for you.

If you are an advanced student of A Course in Miracles and are ready to have your learning revived and shaken up a little, this book may just dot enough i’s and cross enough t’s to push you to your next level of experience. That certainly was my experience. Sometimes, a fresh new approach is all that is needed to remove the cobwebs of unknowing. Deliciously irreverent, delightfully provocative, decidedly radical, definitely non-dualistic, devilishly divine and perhaps divinely devilish!

There is also a fair dose of clever humour woven into this clearly inspired book. Don’t be surprised to find yourself laughing out loud when you read the little subtle jabs aimed at the insanity of the world in which we live. There is a lot packed into the images of this graphic novel, and not wanting to miss a single world, or quip, I needed good lighting, and, on occasion, the old magnifying lens... But, it was worth the extra effort! I dare you to read this book, cover to cover.

What mostly caught my attention was the fact that Alex is so young! Wow, what tremendous wisdom. Along with his wisdom is his delightfully sharp wit. I laughed out loud several times. What a treat! Thank you Alex. You’ll want to visit Alex’s website for more fun stuff!
