Gourganes are on special at Adonis again this week. My mom reminded me of an old bread recipe she had found in a magazine years ago. So, I did a little research, and put this recipe together.<\/p>\n<p>I used a blend of flours: Red fife, sprouted red fife, white red fife, spelt and a bit of quinoa four. I&#8217;ve since made it with half and half white Red Fife and whole Red Fife flour. So good!\u00a0 I used an organic oatmeal stout from a local microbrewery&#8230; full flavoured! You don&#8217;t want a light beer for this. I guess it doesn&#8217;t get any more Quebecois than this! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2628\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.paulineedward.com\/inthekitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/beerbread_M-1.jpg?resize=550%2C396\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.paulineedward.com\/inthekitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/beerbread_M-1.jpg?w=550&amp;ssl=1 550w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.paulineedward.com\/inthekitchen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/beerbread_M-1.jpg?resize=300%2C216&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<p>3 cups flour (mixed)<br \/>\n1 tablespoon baking powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1 tablespoon sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon dry mustard<br \/>\n12 oz (341 ml) beer, 1 1\/2 cups<br \/>\nOptional seasonings: 1 teaspoon onion powder, \u00bd teaspoon dried basil, rosemary, oregano, Parmesan cheese, sesame seeds, salt or steak spice to sprinkle over top.<\/p>\n<h4>Instructions<\/h4>\n<p>Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.<br \/>\nCombine dry ingredients in bowl; mix well.<br \/>\nAdd beer to dry ingredients; stir only to mix.
